The Journey

Change from the inside out

You spend most of your life leading a business, a team, or a career you're good at. But could you be doing more for God? For most Christian leaders the answer is yes… and you don't need to step away from the marketplace to do it.

Our Story

From Orlando to Pretoria

Lifework began in 1992 when William Armstrong, a Colorado media executive turned United States Senator, convened a meeting of market placeleaders to cast a vision for transformation through Christ-centred leadership in the workplace. It launched in Orlando (Florida) and became so impactful that more cities in the USA wanted to be in on it. After this initial expansion in the USA, Lifework Leadership became global and now serve several cities around the world.

In 2015, the Lifework Leadership program was launched in its first African city – Pretoria, South Africa! Since the program’s initial intake, leaders from different spheres of society are continuously being empowered as true City Changers. These influencers leverage their talents, skills, experience and leadership capabilities for the kingdom of God within their personal and professional environments. 16 cities within 6 nations, graduated close to 4,000 alumni who have completed this 9-month life-changing journey. This is your opportunity to become part of the Lifework family!

More than a programme

A journey you begin and never graduate from

Lifework Leadership isn't a course you complete and file away. The nine-month Jesus Journey is your entry point. It is a year spent studying how Jesus engaged the marketplace, alongside a cohort of business owners and leaders from across the city. From there you're welcomed into the Commissioned Community: a lifelong network that keeps meeting, growing and sending its members back into every sphere of society. Through the Annual Legacy Event, recurring Paul's Missions, and ongoing streams like Business in Ministry and Lifework One, the community keeps building new ways to make an impact together.

Inside a session

The venue and rhythm of each gathering

The venue is part of the message. Each session is hosted somewhere across Pretoria chosen to reflect the journey itself: places that awaken calling, build connection and capture your heart for the city.

Topical sessions run from 14:00 to 18:00, roughly one weekday a month. Each built on three movements.
